ACCOUNTING INTERN – Summer 2026

About the Role
The Accounting Intern will support the finance and property operations teams during the 2026 summer term. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented student who enjoys working with numbers, wants exposure to real estate financials, and thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a portfolio of commercial properties while contributing to meaningful day-to-day accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing, including invoice coding, vendor setup, and payment tracking
- Support monthly financial reporting by preparing reconciliations, updating schedules, and validating property-level data
- Help maintain accurate tenant ledgers, including rent charges, adjustments, and collections tracking
- Participate in operating expense and capital project budget updates
- Review property management documentation such as work orders, purchase orders, and service contracts
- Contribute to audit preparation and documentation requests
- Complete ad-hoc analysis to support asset management, leasing, and operations teams
- Provide general support to property management and operations as needed, including assisting with on site tasks, documentation, and other property related activities that arise throughout the summer

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accounting, finance, or business program
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numerical data
- Proficient with Excel; familiarity with accounting or property management software is an asset
- Clear communicator with strong organizational skills
- Interest in commercial real estate and learning how properties operate financially
- Market data collection
- This position will report to the Manager of Finance.
